Private Instruction · Natural Building

One-on-one cob instruction — your project, your pace.

Sometimes you don't need a full project or a group workshop. You need focused time with someone who knows natural building and can give your specific situation their full attention.

What We Do Together

Every one-on-one is different

Every one-on-one is different. Some people want a site visit — someone to walk their land with them, look at what they're working with, and help them think through what's possible. Some want a day or two of hands-on work on something specific. Some want to learn a particular skill or material up close, at their own pace, without a group around them.

We figure out what makes sense for you once we talk.

Good Fit For

Is this what you need?

This works best when you have something specific in mind and want focused attention on it.

  • You have a specific question or challenge you need help thinking through
  • You want hands-on guidance on your own project
  • You learn better one-on-one than in a group setting
  • You want dedicated focused time without the energy of a workshop or work party
  • You’re not quite ready for a full collaborative project but want to move forward on something real

How It Works
Natural building instruction in progress

Start with what you’re working on

Reach out and tell us what you're working on or trying to figure out. We'll have a conversation, figure out what kind of time together makes sense, and go from there. No need to have it all figured out — that's what the conversation is for.

There’s no fixed format. Some sessions are a few hours on a site visit. Some are a full day with hands in the material. We figure it out together based on what you actually need.

In Practice

Clay paint over earthen plaster — hybrid studio interior

Clay paint applied to earthen plaster walls inside the hybrid studio. The base is a bagged powdered clay — light colored, consistent, and clean to work with. Mixed with water and applied by hand over the earthen plaster. Matte finish, non-toxic, no synthetics. This is what the interior of a light straw-clay building looks like as it’s being finished.
